A deep loss!

Sergeant John Allen Steel, the CO's RTO ( Radio Telephone Operator ) of Company C, 1/327th Infantry, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, was killed by a booby trap shortly after arriving at an LZ after a grueling day's "hump". Our captain was among those seriously wounded in the incident.

John was a respected member of our company, an excellent RTO, and his loss affected us deeply.

If John Steel has family living yet, I would consider it an honor to relay more information. My mailing address is P.O. Box 391, Lewiston, MN 55952.

God bless.

From a sergeant in John A Steel's company,
J. Mark Reisetter
