A Note from The Virtual WallPetty Officer Kenneth Stommes was assigned to the Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, but his duties would have been with the Battalion Aid Station or in the field with one of the rifle companies. On 27 Oct 1967, the 1/4 Marines were heavily engaged and each of the four rifle companies lost men killed in action - 1 from Alpha, 7 from Bravo, 2 from Charlie, 4 from Delta. We don't know which company Petty Officer Stommes was with.
"You guys are the Marine's doctors - There's none better in the business than a Navy Corpsman ..." -- Lieutenant General "Chesty" Puller --
