A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 05 Dec 1969 three men from the 1st Bridge Co, 7th Eng Bn, were killed while dealing with a booby-trapped 500lb bomb on Route 535 7 kilometers northeast of Que Son:
  • Sgt Richard A. Watts, Schenectady, NY
  • LCpl Steven D. Levesque, Barre, VT
  • LCpl Ralph L. Taylor, Baltimore, MD
On 24 April 1970 LCpl Joseph R. Smoyer of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, died in the Philadelphia Naval Hospital of injuries received when the bomb exploded.
