It's been many many years since you've been gone but you will always be remembered. I was just a young girl, that you probably didn't know that even existed. I remember the crush I had on you at only 8 years old and how I used to peek out the window when you would pass by. One day you never came home and 35 years later I often think of you. You see, I was that little neighbor girl that used to blush when you came around. You are often thought of!!!!!!!A note from The Virtual Wall
On 04 April 1968, 3rd Plt, E Co, 3rd Bn, 47th Infantry, was making a riverine landing along the My Tho River in Kien Hoa Province. As the Navy armored assault craft nosed ashore, it came under heavy automatic weapons fire. When PFC Steve Trivelpiece moved forward to set up his machine gun he was struck and killed by enemy fire. His unit was forced to withdraw before PFC Trivelpiece's body could be recovered. Subsequent aerial searches failed to locate his remains.
