A Note from The Virtual Wall

A truck from HQ Battery, 11th Marines struck a mine about 4 kilometers northwest of Dien Ban, injuring several men. As other Marines came to help, one of them detonated a boobytrap. Three Marines died within a five-minute period. They were

  • LCpl Vincent Piscar, Greensburg, PA, B Co, 7th Engineers; and
  • Pfc David P. Thibodeau, Rumford, ME, HQ Btry, 11th Marines.
