A Note from The Virtual Wall

The casualty database indicates Lieutenant Colonel Torrence, a West Point graduate with the Class of 1955, was killed in a helicopter accident on Lao May Island, 10 kilometers southeast of Can Tho. Since there were no known fatal US helo incidents on 18 May 1971 it seems probable he was aboard a Vietnamese Air Force aircraft.
