REMEMBEREDI only wish I could of felt your gentle being that I have heard so much about.
A memorial from his nephew Steve. |
As well as I remember, he only had about two weeks before he was to go home. I talked to him a couple of nights before we got caught in an ambush at My Lai. He was a gentle, easy-going guy who everybody liked. So here's to you my brother, forever young. I think about that day quite often. We were soldiers. I would like very much to hear from any member of his family.
From a friend, |
A gentle man in all ways. He is missed by all his family. His nephew is Frank VanLoon, named after Frank and Frank's father, his "Opa". If you want to write to Frank he is fvl10@aol.com. Frank was born on July 30 and nephew Frank on June 30 1971. Isn't that kind of nice. They say he looked like him at birth too. Always in our prayers.
From his nephew and sister-in-law, |
