Notes from The Virtual WallCorporal Jerry Walls was an Artillery Forward Observer team member with A Company, 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry. On 8 Oct 1967, the 2nd Platoon, A/2/327th Infantry, was cut off from other Company elements by two North Vietnamese Army companies. In the ensuing battle, 17 troopers and 60 or more NVA soldiers were killed in action. These men are remembered on the 2/327th Infantry site, together with more information on the battle.
