It's been 39 years and I still remember the day Gunny Arrington told me you were wounded on the truck convoy from Hill 55. Two days later you died.
I have not forgotten you or your friendship towards me, a person from the east coast who'd never been on the west coast. You took the time to show me the area and introduce me to your extended family.
I regret I was never able to make contact with your family in all these years after I was med-evaced home. I did find your grave in 1994. That year my family was coming back from Florida. I tried to find anyone who knew you or your family to no avail.
Rest in peace, my brother! know that one day I will join you.
