RITES HELD MONDAY FOR LOCAL MARINE

Funeral services for PFC James L. Wilkes (sic) were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. from Wilkes Chapel Methodist Church. The Rev. Duncan L. Floyd and the Rev. Mrs. Bessie Parker officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.

Surviving are his father, Willie Wilkes (sic); and his mother Mrs. Blanche Rhodes, of Hartsville; two sisters, Mrs. Patsy Lewis and Mrs. Jean Cassidy, both of Hartsville; one brother, Larry K. Wilkes (sic) of the home; his paternal grandmother, Una Wilkes (sic) of Hartsville and maternal grandmother, Beulah Freeman, Hartsville.
