Notes from The Virtual Wall On 23 April 1967 a UH-1D (tail number 64-13525) of the 129th AHC struck trees while lifting off from a confined area. The aircraft crashed and burned, killing four of the eight men aboard: 129th AHC crewmen: WO1 Edward William Wells, pilot, died WO1 H. D. Sauer, pilot, survived SP4 W. D. James, crew chief, survived SP4 Michael D. Walker, gunner, died of injuries 10 May 67 Passengers from C Company, 2/327th Infantry: 1st Sgt Raymond E. Benson, died SSgt J. Plummer, survived Sp4 W. E.
