Two men from A Company, 229th AHB, were killed when their UH-1D (tail number 66-16800) crashed in Dam Tra Lake south of LZ ENGLISH during a night mission on 18 Jan 1968:
  • WO James A. Johansen, Mercer Island, WA, copilot, and
  • SP4 Donald D. Wielkopolan, Taylor, MI, door gunner.
