An ambush patrol from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry, 25th Infantry Division were enroute to their unit's Night Defensive Position (NDP) when a booby trap detonated. The explosion killed 3 members to Company A. The men who were killed in this event were:

In the March 12, 1970 Traverse City Michigan paper, the following was posted: "Killed in Action WASHINGTON UPI Two Michigan soldiers were among 15 U.S servicemen identified by the Defense Department Wednesday as having died in recent combat action in Vietnam. They were Army Spec 4 Paul V. Adams, son of Mrs. Patty J Clark of Detroit and Army Pfc Donald R. Wishon son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wishon of Berkley. "
