Tommy was my close personal friend in high school. I shall miss him forever. He was killed 4 days before his 21st birthday. Tommy had been in-country only weeks before his death.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 20 May 1968 three men from Charlie 1/3 were killed in a grenade attack on their position about 8 kilometers northwest of Cam Lo:
  • Cpl James A. Jenkins, Marion, NC (Silver Star);
  • Pvt John S. Taylor, Granby, CT (Silver Star); and
  • Pfc Tommy D. Wright, Centralia, MO.
