Coincidentally, my own son-in-law is with the 101st Airborne at this time and is deploying to Iraq in September. This is certainly déjà vu for me.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 04 June 1969, during Operation LAMAR PLAIN, UH-1D tail number 66-00819 was shot down about 5 kilometers west of Tam Ky, killing the four aircrewmen and an artillery observer:
