21 Nov 2002 Glen was a great guy. He was fun loving and was dedicated to his job as a fighter pilot. He had that special swagger and bravado you think of in fighter pilots. He and I went through AFROTC together at Penn State. He was one of three friends from those ROTC days who were killed during the war. He would have made a great Wing Commander if he had a chance to continue his career. He lost his life in a take-off crash of an F-105 at Korat RTAFB, Thailand. I miss you, Bull. A Note from The Virtual Wall Although Hobson's "Vietnam Air Losses" contains the following entry "F-105D 62-4300   469 TFS, 388 TFW, Korat 1Lt Glen F. Bullock (KIA) The engine of a Thunderchief failed during takeoff from Korat and the aircraft crashed killing the pilot." and Jim Baugher's compilation of USAF aircraft procurement and disposition confirms the aircraft "[63-]4300 (469 TFS) crashed on takeoff Oct 10, 1966, Thailand." 1stLt Glen Bullock was not assigned to the 469th TFS. Both the USAF/KIA listing and his Presidential Letter of Condolences file confirm that he was assigned to the 34th TFS, which had been activated at Korat RTAFB on 15 May 1966. 1stLt Bullock was the fourth of 22 aircrewmen lost during the 34th TFW's two tours in Thailand - and one of only two men killed in operational accidents.
