A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 1st Cavalry Division's Operational Report for Feb-Apr 1968 contains the following entry:

The four men from C Co, 1/8th Cavalry, who died in the engagement were

  • SGT Norman D. Green, Albion, NE
  • SP4 Charlie A. Bratcher, Caneyville, KY
  • SP4 Reuben Jones, De Quincy, LA
  • CPL Joseph P. Turnbull, Tampa, FL
SSG Ronald L. McCollum of Covington, Kentucky, died on 18 Feb of wounds previously received. While The Virtual Wall cannot prove it so, it seems likely that he was one of the four men wounded in the attack.
