24 Sep 1999

I noticed that after 31 years, no one has yet placed a memorial for my friend, Army Sp 4 John Joseph Cimorelli, Jr., ID #13805657, from Philadelphia, PA.

John was with B Company, 1/327 of the 101st Airborne and died 6/18/68 of wounds received on 6/16/68 in an NVA ambush near the Rao Nho in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam. John's MOS was 11C20, his date of birth was 7/6/46, his tour date started 3/30/68 and ended 6/18/68.

He was 21 at the time of death and had done a tour in Germany prior to his tour in Vietnam. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and the Combat Infantryman's Badge.

I'm hoping that you will be able to place this information on your page, as so many of his family members are deceased and maybe someone seeing your listing will remember him and contact me.
