David William Coon is on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Panel 05W Line 052.

David, today would have been your 51st birthday. I wonder where you'd have been today, what you would have been doing. I have never forgotten you, but it has been all this time before I could acknowledge your death. Never does a day pass that I don't wish you'd have been shipped to my unit so I could have protected you. And a night never passes when I don't think of searching for you there, and arriving at your locale 2 weeks after your death. I'm so sorry we never got that last chance to talk. But I have to tell myself you are at peace, and that's what makes it bearable. Happy Birthday Dave, May 22, 2002 ... you'd have been 51. I miss you.
