SP5 Alan Howard Johnson was the door gunner on UH-1H 68-1625 when he lost his life flying a combat mission at Binh Dinh, South Vietnam. Alan was a skilled gunner and was respected by the members of the 281st Flight. He shall not be forgotten.

Also lost in the crash of the UH-1H were SP5 Frank M. Kaiser, crew chief, and WO Tarry T. O'Reilly, pilot.

SP5 Alan Johnson was adopted by Bob Mitchell who is developing his "Book Of Remembrance" for the 281st web site.
