1st Lt Daniel Macarthur Kellett was born in Boston, MA, 01/01/1943, grew up in Jamaica Plain, attended St. Thomas Aquinas Grammar School, graduated Boston Technical High, and graduated Boston College, ROTC, 1964.

He attended San Diego Army School of Language, studied the Vietnamese language and was then deployed to Viet Nam as an advisor to the 9th Division, South Vietnamese Army, 07/16/1966. He was to be made Captain the day after he died.

He was sent to an American unit in the Mekong River delta, where the river boat he was on swerved suddenly and he fell overboard and was caught up in the blades and died, that was 12/08/1966. His body was found 12/12/1966.

Previous to his tour in Viet Nam he served at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
