A Note from The Virtual Wall

Mines were an ever-present hazard in Vietnam, and on 09 August 1970 Alpha 1/1 lost four men in one or more mine incidents:
  • CPT David T. Maddux, Racine, WI;
  • SP4 Kirk O. Barkley, East Leroy, MI;
  • PFC Ivery L. Baxter, Los Angeles, CA; and
  • PFC Joe Reyna, Cherokee, TX.
