LCPL Mike Patricio Expinoza was killed by fragmentation wounds to the head and body from a grenade. He was surivived by his mother Nellie (Fimbrez) Espinoza (1921-2015), father Mike Dominguez Espinoza (1915-2009), two sisters Virginia and Gloria, and brothers Frank Espinoza (1945-2015) and Henry C (1950- ). He is buried with his parents and brother Frank in Saint Peters Cemetery, Fresno, Fresno County, California.
