Prior to the military, Bricey attended high school at Willingham and McEvoy High School and assumed to have graduated in 1964 - the photo above was from his HS year book where it says he was in the Frenc Club during his junior and senior years. He was a reserve officer on active duty but it is unknown if he obtained his commission from a Reserve program - ROTC, or Officer Candidate School after entering on active duty. However, he began his tour in Vietnam on June 1, 1967, only 3 years after leaving high school.

Lt Lamb was wounded while on a combat operation 10 Kilometers E-SE of Duc Co Airfield on August 15, 1967 when he was hit with fragments from a mortar round shot by Americans. He was listed as very seriously ill on September 10, 1967 and died on the 11th.

He was the son of Velma and Willie L. Lamb (1916 - 1977). Information from the obituary for: Velma Harvey Lamb Cole (May 3, 1925 - August 24, 2010) shows his mother, formerly of Macon, Georgia, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Graveside services held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Cole was born in Tallahassee, FL to the late Walter and Nellie Richards Harvey. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie L. Lamb and Dallas E. Cole, two sons, Bricey Elrod Lamb and Bruce Galen Lamb (1949 - 1975) and her four brothers.

She was survived by her son, Bernie L. Lamb, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family is buried in Macon Memorial Park, Macon, Georgia in Section T, Plot 441. As seen in below photos, his father Willie was also a veteran - World War II.
