The photo and following article is taken from The Philadelphia Daily News, special supplement entitled 'SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY,' October 26, 1987.
Anderson attended Overbrook High School before enlisting in the Marine Corps in May 1966. The 19-year-old private first class, an ammunition carrier with Company E of the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, died near Huong Hoa, Viet Nam, on May 3, 1967. He was survived by his parents and a sister.
