21 Apr 2004 I came to visit with you again today; I have been to see you before, you know. Although it has been 35 years now, know that you are remembered with utmost fondness. I can still clearly picture your wonderful grin. You were a guardian angel to a scared young girl just moved to Milwaukee and starting at Pulaski High. You, Paul, and David made things a whole lot easier for me and your dear Mom was always there when things got too bad, for which I will always be most grateful. Even though I have lost touch with everyone else over the years, I have often felt you near and still watching out for me... my personal angel. I know sometime we will meet again. 9 Jan 2005 PRETTY SCARY!!! My Name is MICHAEL BRAUN from Germany. It was just a random thing that I came on this memorial site. I'm interested in the Vietnam War since my childhood days and sometimes I search on the internet for content to this theme. For some reason I wanted to know if there was somebody who died in Vietnam, with my Name: MICHAEL BRAUN. So I came to this site, the only site and the only guy with the name BRAUN, who fell in Vietnam. And guess what: I just don't have the same name like him, we also have the same date of birth: The 8th February!!! Not enough: He died in the same year I was born: 1968 !!! I am sure this is nothing "unusual", although it made me think about HIM and ME and what would have been if it was ME instead of HIM! 29 May 2006 We were friends and neighbors on Howard Avenue and even "dated" a time or two. You were one of those really nice guys that there aren't really too many of and I loved having you for a friend. I stopped by the Wall several years back and found your name and felt so guilty that I had lived my life and you were cheated out of yours too early. The world would have been a better place had you lived and made your contribution. Passing beer up thru the basement window and using my knee as a make-believe "shift" while driving your dad's "automatic" and dances and high school plays and me helping you thru the prom trauma and you taking me to see MASH the day my boyfriend left for service made us good friends and I will always value that.
