A Note from The Virtual Wall Two men died when their O-1E (tail number 56-2493) went down during a visual reconnaissance flight over Long An Province, SVN: Capt Craig S. Blackner, Lyman, WY, 20th Tactical Air Support Squadron A1C John I. Cameron, Coxsackie, NY, 6253rd Consolidated Maintenance Squadron The casualty record for Airman Cameron lists his loss in Gia Dinh Province, SVN; Captain Blackner's record and Hobson's "Vietnam Air Losses" place the location in Long An Province. The two provinces are adjacent and share a considerable border. Although Airman Cameron was assigned to the 6253rd CM Sqdn he was flying as an aerial observer with the 20th TASS.
