Danny was my favorite uncle. I had 5 uncles in all on my Mom's side, but he was the best. We were really close. And we were constant rivals at the same time. See, I was my Grandmother's oldest grandchild, he was her baby. So it was a constant battle to see who could get what we wanted first. He loved to play practical jokes. And wasn't above a good old-fashioned water balloon fight either (I lost those). Danny's hobbies were hunting and fishing. After he'd go out and kill a couple rabbits or squirrels, he'd bring them home and I would hold the feet while he pulled the skin off. YUK. I never ate the poor things, couldn't bring myself to do it. Anyway, Danny was a great guy. He wrote me from Viet Nam and told me not to quit school, no matter what. Said he'd kick my butt if I did. I promised him I wouldn't. And I didn't. I really miss him a lot, even after 35 years. I will always love him like a brother.
