The following article is taken from The Philadelphia Daily News, special supplement entitled 'SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY,' October 26, 1987.

Dorn entered the Marine Corps in March 1968, after working briefly as a food handler in a Philadelphia chicken processing plant. The 19-year-old private first class, an ammunition carrier and mortarman assigned to Company D of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, died in the Station Hospital at Da Nang, Quang Nam Province, Viet Nam, on January 19, 1969.
