A Note from The Virtual Wall

OV-1
The OV-1 Mohawk was designed as an intelligence collection aircraft and was capable of carrying a variety of sensors. Captain Doyle, an aerial surveillance officer with the 525th Military Intelligence Group, was flying with Captain Steven J. Popkin in OV-1C tail number 61-2709 of the 244th Aviation Company over Kien Tuong Province when the aircraft was shot down. Both men died in the incident.
