Bedford was a Squad leader in C Co. 2/5 Cavalry and I was a Platoon Leader in that company. I was there the day he died and was blessed a couple of years ago to go to Hammon, Oklahoma and meet his parents.
John L. McCorkle |
Bedford was an outstanding soldier. He was a squad leader for 3rd Platoon, Charlie Company, 2/5th, 1st Cav. He attended the Ranger/Airborne Course at Fort Benning, GA. prior to his tour in Vietnam. He gave his life while trying to assist one of his wounded soldiers in his squad. I remember his grin and will always remember his ultimate sacrifice that he gave for his fellow man. God Bless you Beford!
