Ralph Ebbs, 1965

25 March 2002

I served with Sergeant Ebbs in C Company, 3rd Recon Bn, in Phu Bai in 1965-66, along with Doug Heath, Tom Enwright, Rudy Fontane, Jerry Shea, etc.

The photo, left to right, shows Lt Frank Homan, Sgt Ralph Ebbs, Sgt ???, and Lt Mike Dicke. Frank had 1st Platoon, Mike had 2nd, and I had 3rd Platoon. Mike was killed in action in June 14, 1971, in Quang Tri Province.

We all liked and respected Sgt Ebbs greatly. Top Ward, one of the greatest Marines that I ever knew, also had great things to say about Ebbs.
