The MissionOn 19 Mar 1970, two UH-1P aircraft of the 20th Special Operations Squadron based at Ban Me Thuot departed on a training flight. UH-1P tail number 65-07944, carrying a four-man crew, was shot down by enemy ground fire southeast of Ban Me Thuot. One gunner was thrown clear and survived, but three men died in the crash:
