A GODLY MAN...

I was a fellow medic and good friend of Mark's during our tour. "Doc" Gross was a hero many times over that year in saving the troops as they got hit ... I was a Christian and Mark was a Jew but we shared an open communication about God and what He must have thought about that awful war. I remember that Mark felt God's name was too holy to write out so he would write G*d instead. I'm looking forward to heaven so we can sit together and laugh again!

I was a neighbor and friend of Mark Gross. He was one of those all-around good guys. Always willing to lend an ear or to be of help. No wonder he became a medic.

I vividly remember paying a condolence call to his 22 year old widow, thinking what a disgrace it was ... it was unnatural for a young woman to be a widow. She was in Hawaii waiting for Mark for his R&R when he was killed on a land mine on his way to meet her.

May Mark rest in peace.
