Pete Hammond was a very good friend. We knew each other from work and spent a lot of time together before he went to Vietnam. He took me out for my 21st birthday and I did not find out until he died that he was a year younger than me. We had a good relationship ... it was more friends than romance. We played a lot of Hearts with my mom and sisters and lots of Scrabble with his mom and cousin. He was a caring and loving person. Even after all these years I still think of him and miss him. He like so many others left this world too soon.

Pete ... I love you, my friend ... always have and always will. We will get together again someday and play Hearts and Scrabble in Heaven.
