A Note from The Virtual WallThe 11th Engineer Battalion Command Chronology for July 1969 contains the following entry:"On 7 Jul 69 a M-151 and a refueler were returning to Dong Ha Combat Base from the Cam Lo District. The refueler hit a mine first, resulting in 1 WIA and a badly damaged refueler. Approximately 45 minutes later a M-151 hit a mine, resulting in the loss of 'B' Company Commander, Capt D. W. HEROY, and 'B' Company First Sergeant, 1stSgt Paul H. SHEEHAN, plus the driver was WIA (evac). The M-151 was a total loss." |
