I first met this Marine when I arrived as a recruit at MCRD San Diego. He was the Senior Drill Instructor in August of 1965 of Platoon #267. Meaner than hell, and a "by the books" DI. His steely blue eyes could burn a hole in the toughtest Marine. I was shocked to find his name on the "Wall" years later. I will never forget this Marine and what he taught us. Semper Fi, Sarge.

You were the best friend and boss a Marine could have on the boat ramp, you made me a better person in life ... even at 19.
