A Note from The Virtual WallThe 1011th S&S Company, 29th GS Group, lost two men from incoming rockets on Camp Bearcat on Highwary QL-15, 16 Kilometers Southeast of Bien Hoa, South Vietnam on 24 Feb 1969; SSG Michael N. Hubert of Emporia, Kansas, was killed from the incoming while SP4 Sammy E. Kinnamon of Independence, Kansas, was wounded. Kinnamon died the following day, 25 Feb 1969. SP4 Sammy E. Kinnamon was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, Kansas as is his father, Edward Francis "Ed" Kinnamon, a veteran of World War II. Ed was survived by his wife, Troula; a son, Stanley, and brothers, William and Don, all of Independence. Also survived by 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. | |
