In memory of my friend Tommy

We went to and graduated high school together then both went to Vietnam in 66. I still think of you often and I'm sure now that I always will. I think about when we were in school and all the good times we had there. I often think about you being in the stands at a basketball game and cheering for me and the other guys while we were playing. I smile when I think of that and cry still when I think of you being killed. I'm so sorry for what happened to you, Tommy. I don't know how I ever made it out of there and often wonder why I did and you didn't. I think too about what it was like for your family when they were told. I'm sure it was heart breaking for them as it is for me. How strange that all these years later I'm sitting here writing this memorial to you. I still have our year book and often look at our pictures because as difficult as it is I want to remember you in that way but my thoughts are always filled with Vietnam. You'll never be forgotten.

Your friend,
Michael Orlando
