21 Jan 2007

On July 22, 1971 Danny Lee Lightsey was involved in an accident on the 1890 Pile Driving Barge that claimed his life and another Brother, Robert "Bob" Miranda, who passed on August 2, 1971, both from the results of burns. Both these Brothers served with the 523rd Engineer Company and we who served as well were honored to serve along with them. May your spirits persever as we bow our heads in silence and our eyes give off a tear in honor and remembrance for you both and all who paid with the ultimate sacrifice, and gave it all. There are 5 names on the Wall of ones who were a part of us in 1971 and left us suddenly from the 523rd Eng Co. You all will always be remembered.
