At 0130 on the morning of 28 August 1967, the Marble Mountain Air Facility came under heavy rocket attack. Four Marines died in the barrage and dozens of others were wounded. The dead were

  • Cpl Robert Hugh Steele, H&MS-16
  • LCpl Michael Jay Caller, TDY from H&MS 15, Sub-unit 1, Futema Air Base, Okinawa
