A Note from The Virtual WallOn 18 Nov 1970 CW2 Benton Lewis Miller, instructor pilot, and WO1 Thomas Allison Knopik, pilot under instruction, were flying a training flight from Quang Tri Airfield in UH-1H tail number 69-15565. As the aircraft was on final approach to the field it appeared to decelerate, then rolled right into a vertical descent. The tail boom separated before ground impact. Both crewmen were killed in the crash. |
