A Note from The Virtual WallOn 15 March 1971 a UH-1H Huey (tail number 68-15441) of the 117th Assault Helicopter Company was tasked with an administrative flight to HOTEL-3, a helicopter field near Tan Son Nhut Airbase. After off-loading their passengers and getting a good hover check, the aircraft was cleared for take-off. Take-off and initial climb-out appeared normal, but as the Huey entered a left bank to heading 270 it appeared to slow. It then entered a descent, impacting on a berm bordering a ditch. The aircraft broke up and burned. Four men were killed in the accident:
