I was with Charles when he died. We had been pinned down and trying to move back to the tracks and he was trying to keep their heads down so the men could move to safety. When I told him to move he had been shot and died there. He served with all he had and gave his all for the safety of the others. He will not be forgotten. Rest, my Brother, and peace be with you.
