I am the cousin of Cpl Lionel Rachal, US Army. I am Sgt Darrell Rachal, USMC, and I feel the need to honor my cousin whom I never met but have heard so much about from his mom, my aunt Margaret and my Dad Cleveland Rachal, who served with him. My cousin was a great man. Extremely loving to his mom and his family. Always smiling and always with a positive attitude. A true warrior of the United States and guardian of freedom. Lionel gave the ultimate sacrifice when he voluntarily enlisted in the United States Army Feb 6th 1969, and was killed in action on June 9th 1969. I look at his medals at my aunt's house and I know he did what he thought was right. Thank you for this web site.
