A Note from The Virtual Wall Five crewmen were killed and one survived when a B-52D (tail number 56-0677) of the 307th Strategic Bomb Wing was struck by lightning after taking off from U-Tapao RTAFB on a combat mission. The lightning strike knocked out most of the aircraft's instruments and started a fire in the port wing. The five dead were MAJ James E. Hudelson, Roseburg, OR CPT Ronald A. Ashe, Ansonia, CT CPT David J. Price, Marion, OH CPT Thomas W. Reasor, Evansville, IN CPT Josep L. Ruzicka, North Augusta, SC Regretably, crew and MOS assignments are not available, and for that reason it is not possible to display Captain Reasor's flight rating badge.
