The following article is taken from The Philadelphia Daily News, special supplement entitled 'SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY,' October 26, 1987. The special supplement was issued in conjunction with the dedication of the Philadelphia Viet Nam Memorial.

Redmon enlisted in the Army in January 1970. The 20-year-old specialist four, an assistant machine gunner, was sent to Viet Nam in October 1970 and assigned to Company A of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry, 11th Infantry Brigade. Redmon died on February 15, 1971. He was survived by a sister.
