A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 1st Bn, 11th Marines Command Chronology for September 1967 contains the following entry:
"At 0621 on 11 September the small arms storage bunker of Headquarters Battery blew up killing L/Cpl G. Revelle. A hand flare detonated within the bunker while returning ammo from the bunker's position on the berm."
