26 March 2002 This is to let everyone know Jerry Samson was the greatest little brother in the world. When they notified us that he was killed in action it was the worst day in my life. I miss him more and more every day, with him gone my life is never going to be the same. I loved him with all my heart and knew he really loved me too. A Note from The Virtual Wall H&S Company, 3/26th Marines, lost two men to enemy mortar fire on 18 March 1969: GySgt Kenneth J. Knoeferl, Rock Island, IL LCpl Jerry E. Samson, Flint, MI The battalion's rifle companies lost four others in a separate action.
