My Dear Friend,
You were the first officer I worked for after being commissioned. I have such wonderful members of the hours you worked with me to help me grow. Our friendship remained close even though we went on different assignments until we were reunited in the 1st Cav. Last year I had the chance to talk to your sister and an old girl friend of yours from Germany. Neither of them really knew what happened that terrible day and I was able to give a first hand account of your love for flying and your bravery in the final moments of your life. I talked to Ralph Moffett yesterday, another of your many friends. God bless my friend, you are missed and loved.

From a friend,
